Financial Analysis

Changeover Divorce Transitions provides creative settlement solutions that make financial sense for both parties, allowing you to maximize asset retention and minimize taxes. Every financial decision has an emotional impact and we work closely with you to understand your unique situation and offer creative advice.

How can a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) help you? Gail Nankervis began her career as a financial adviser. When she gained the additional certification as a CDFA®, she was able to apply her knowledge of tax law, asset distribution, and short- and long-term financial planning to help Changeover clients have a less sucky divorce.

Gail develops a realistic picture of each client's financial situation to make data-based recommendations for reasonable division of assets.

Changeover provides the following analysis and guidance in all financial aspects of divorce including:

  • Retirement and pension valuation
  • Valuing and dividing property
  • Options for dividing a family business
  • Personal vs. marital property
  • Tax problems and solutions

"We did a pro se divorce but needed help with the child support calculations. Gail was able to help us quickly come to an understanding of how the calculations are done and took the stress off us by providing the appropriate guideline amount. She saved us days of filling out forms by completing all the required forms for us for a very reasonable price. Gail helped us simplify the process and keep conflict to a minimum. She made me so comfortable that I think I blew up her phone asking a million random questions about the divorce process. She graciously spoke to me, educated me, and counseled me through the process. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a civil and efficient divorce."

"Gail is not only knowledgeable about finance, especially as it pertains to divorce, but she makes an otherwise tough situation a little easier to bear. She is wonderful at putting things on paper that you would not even think about needing until she brings it up. I am not sure where I would be without her. I would highly recommend her to anyone going through the painful process of divorce."

"I had already submitted my financial documents to my attorney, but because of my uncertainty and inexperience, I decided to hire Gail to review them. Within 15 minutes, she corrected my financial affidavit and had increased my net worth by $800,000!!! She helped equip my attorney with various scenarios that were tax efficient for both me and my former spouse. She helped me set reasonable expectations for my divorce and was a helpful and supportive sounding board for me throughout the process. She even helped me set up a new post-divorce budget that has helped my family maintain our standard of living as much as we are able."
